Looking for a few end-of-year picture book read-aloud ideas – here are 30+ texts you could use. The list is always growing as new amazing books are published even if I have a few perpetual favorites on here.
I always end our year with a final read-aloud, yes, even with 7th graders, and it allows us to just sit together in community one final time. It is a beautiful way to say goodbye and one that I highly recommend.

Dear Ms. Ripp,
I’d be honored to have you check out my social-emotional learning book used in elementary and middle schools. I wrote it as a K-12 teacher and school counselor to help kids and adults experience the physical power of changing their thoughts. I presented both the hardcover and Kindle version at the 2018 annual conference of the California Association of School Counselors. The Kindle version has a Bonus Section that is not included in the hardcover.
Volunteering in my granddaughter’s classrooms has brought me a tremendous amount of joy on a local level. Offering free book downloads is a way I can contribute to broader school communities throughout my retirement years.
Thank you so much and enjoy Powering Up!
