A Little More Grace

Maybe what we all need

is just a little more

grace

a little more

time

a little more

love

for ourselves

for our perceived flaws and faults

for the imperfections we pick apart

and hold up to the world

faster than anyone can point them out

to allow ourselves to fully breathe out

in order to

fully breathe in

realize that what we are doing

is enough

for now

that there will always be

more

that we will always need

more

of ourselves

of others

of money

of time

and yet the one guarantee that we all get

is that there is no

more

only now

so I am going to take my breath

care for myself

realize that the work

(always the work)

will still

be

there on Monday

and right now

just be glad that

today

I got to be

  1. Thank you for leading us in such a gracious way. You inspire grit and vision, but also allow for our process to be who we are. Your words always lift my spirit and make me believe I can do this. Thank you.

  2. Such a wonderful release of breath. Not your usual kind of post. I love poetry because it allows us to release our passions and emotions. Grace is my OLW this year and I have needed it every day. Things don’t always go as planned, but we are enough and we need to release and begin again, every day.

  3. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, your heart and your life. This beautiful piece came at the right time and I’m very grateful for it.
